Aaron earned his formal credentials through Salt Lake City Community College, where he completed a comprehensive education in the visual arts. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Photography as well as a degree as a Multimedia Specialist. During his time in these programs, he studied under key mentors, including Ken Kerr, whose instruction helped shape his technical foundation. Kerr is a veteran of Walt Disney Imagineering who led legal, licensing, and marketing for iconic brands like Tron and The Smurfs.
Professional Photography Lineage
His photographic training is rooted in a prestigious lineage of craftsmanship. One of Aaron’s primary instructors was a graduate of the renowned Brooks Institute, while another was a student of a world-famous photographer who notably provided mentorship to Dan Winters briefly. This connection to elite-level theory and practice has deeply informed Aaron’s technical and artistic approach to the medium.
Technical Canyoning & Outdoor Expertise
Beyond the studio, Aaron has developed specialized technical skills in high-stakes environments. He studied Technical Canyoning directly under Rich Carlson, the founder of the craft, following his foundational experience in climbing. This background in technical rope work and outdoor navigation provides a unique edge to his field-based photography and guiding capabilities.
Strategic Mastery & Business Mentorship
A lifelong student of human psychology and commerce, Aaron has dedicated most of his life to the study of marketing, sales, and high-stakes negotiation. This expertise led him to consult with John Z. DeLorean and learn the “Productive Secrets of Billionaires” through Bob Cox, the co-founder of the Home Shopping Network. By learning from mentors who have managed global brands and coached billionaires, Aaron has integrated sophisticated strategic thinking and refined communication skills into his professional repertoire.
